To where you are

Who can say for certain

Maybe you¿re still here

I feel you all around me

Your memories so clear

Deep in the stillness

I can hear you speak

You¿re still an inspiration

Can it be (? )

That you are mine

Forever love

And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are

Beyond the distant star

I wish upon tonight

To see you smile

If only for awhile to know you¿re there

A breath away¿s not far

To where you are

Are you gently sleeping

Here inside my dream

And isn¿t faith believing

All power can¿t be seen

As my heart holds you

Just one beat away

I cherish all you gave me everyday

¿cause you are mine

Forever love

Watching me from up above

And I believe

That angels breathe

And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up

To where you are

Beyond the distant star

I wish upon tonight

To see you smile

If only for awhile

To know you¿re there

A breath away¿s not far

To where you are

I know you¿re there

A breath away¿s not far

To where you are

The dance

Looking back on the memory of

The dance we shared beneath the stars above

For a moment all the world was right

How could I have known you' d ever say goodbye

And now I' m glad I didn' t know

The way it all would end the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

But I' d of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything

For a moment wasn' t I the king

But if I' d only known how the king would fall

Hey who' s to say you know I might have changed it all

And now I' m glad I didn' t know

The way it all would end the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

But I' d of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance

I could have missed the pain but I' d of had to miss the dance

Remember when

Remember when I was young and so were you

and time stood still and love was all we knew

You were the first, so was I

We made love and then you cried

Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows

and walked the walk

Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard

We lived and learned, life threw curves

There was joy, there was hurt

Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born

And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged

We came together, fell apart

And broke each other' s hearts

Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet

was the music

We danced to week to week

Brought back the love, we found trust

Vowed we' d never give it up

Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old

Now lookn' back it' s just a steppin' stone

To where we are,

Where we' ve been

Said we' d do it all again

Remember when

Remember when we said when we turned gray

When the children grow up and move away

We won' t be sad, we' ll be glad

For all the life we' ve had

And we' ll remember when

Where were you

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day

Out in the yard with your wife and children

Working on some stage in LA

Did you stand there in shock at the site of

That black smoke rising against that blue sky

Did you shout out in anger

In fear for your neighbor

Or did you just sit down and cry

Did you weep for the children

Who lost their dear loved ones

And pray for the ones who don' t know

Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble

And sob for the ones left below

Did you burst out in pride

For the red white and blue

The heroes who died just doing what they do

Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer

And look at yourself to what really matters

I' m just a singer of simple songs

I' m not a real political man

I watch CNN but I' m not sure I can tell you

The difference in Iraq and Iran

But I know Jesus and I talk to God

And I remember this from when I was young

Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us

And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day

Teaching a class full of innocent children

Driving down some cold interstate

Did you feel guilty cause you' re a survivor

In a crowded room did you feel alone

Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her

Did you dust off that bible at home

Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened

Close your eyes and not go to sleep

Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages

Speak with some stranger on the street

Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow

Go out and buy you a gun

Did you turn off that violent old movie you' re watching

And turn on " I Love Lucy" reruns

Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger

Stand in line and give your own blood

Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family

Thank God you had somebody to love

I' m just a singer of simple songs

I' m not a real political man

I watch CNN but I' m not sure I can tell you

The difference in Iraq and Iran

But I know Jesus and I talk to God

And I remember this from when I was young

Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us

And the greatest is love

I' m just a singer of simple songs

The difference in Iraq and Iran

But I know Jesus and I talk to God

And I remember this from when I was young

Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us

And the greatest is love

The greatest is love

The greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
